I went to the A & P show today. It was great and would highly recommend. Watching the dog trials was probably the highlight for me.
I biked in. The organisers had made some effort to accommodate bikes by fencing off a small area for parking, but it was way too small so there were bikes leaned up against every spare bit of fence. It was especially silly because they could have easily made the bike area bigger, there was plenty of space around it.
Of note was the wide variety of bikes on display too. It’s hard to see in the photo but there were a lot of families arriving by bike, with kids loaded onto long tail utility bikes, front loader barrow bikes, bike trailers and bike seats.
It’s great to see people biking en masse to events like this. Maybe one year event organisers will eventually click that this is happening and provide a decent amount of bike parking.
